:: Total Sweetness ::

Of all the little things that I've been working on lately none has been more challenging than this little knit cardigan.
I had never attempted to knit anything more than straight pieces and a very simple baby kimono or two.
But a smock top cardi I always thought was beyond my ability. Granted, it is by no means perfect, there are a few loose rows and a couple of things that only I know about, but all in all it didn't turn out that bad.
My daughter liked it. :)

And how could I make something for the little Miss. and nothing for her big sissy. Well, Milla gets a flower brooch. I'm curious to see what she does with it.
At her young age she is very creative and fashion forward.

Tomorrow I will go through my stash and plan my next project.
BTW, only one wip left to finish from my
pile of unfinished wips.
If it turns out, I'll share it with you soon.

Ciao for now. :)

:: More Grannymania, and a cozy jacket for Miss. Ireland ::

Hello everyone,
I hope everyone had an excellent Easter weekend. Mine was very quiet, and peaceful. Everyone did their own thing this year, and that is just fine by me.

So I finally finished a few little things that where on my hooky. Wheeeew!
First things first, little miss Ireland got a much needed cozy little 3/4 sleeve jacket. For some strange reason, which I have yet to figure out, I feel as though this little one is always cold. Or maybe it's just an excuse for me to crochet cute little things, who knows. At any rate I've already started on another cardi, this one is knitted, hopefully it will turn out ok, my knitting skills are so so. :-/

And I finally finished my granny blanket, yay!!!! The colors are very neutral and tres conservative, and it matches my living room just fine.
Except for reversing a row of grannies and messing up the color pattern, I absolutely love it.
I noticed the oopsie when I was crocheting the last round of the picot edging. I am somewhat of a perfectionist, but, wasn't up to undoing so much, soooo. It will forever bug the heck out of me.
I'll learn to live with it. ( I think )

Well my darlings that is about it for today. I'll finish a few other things as the weeks go by, and of course I'll share them with y'all.

Take care for now and have a wonderful week. :)

:: All My Children, and a nice surprise ::

Hello my friends,

"It's just another manic Monday"
I've had that song in my head all morning. :-/

Anyway, I just wanted to share a few little things from weeks past, and some from a few days ago.
As you all know, I had been quite under the weather for a few weeks. But that all ended when about a week ago, we had a family gathering. All my children, along with spouses and grandchildren came over for a Saturday lunch. That rarely happens anymore since everyone is so busy with their own lives and schedules.
We had a great lunch, the children played, the adults got caught up with each other, music was played, walks we're taken, scooter rides were given, a lot was done.
But I was really happy to finally get a picture of our four children. Of course mom and dad too.
On the pic. Left to right, Mr. W. (papa) Ryan age 26, Katherine, just turned 30,
Jayson, just turned 33, Gabriel, 34, and yours truly, (mom, Mimi).
And these are AMC!!!

On a more crafty note, I have started my very first knitted amigurumi, I won't say much, but I'm crossing my fingers that it will turn out good.

And last but never ever least!!! I received a post card from wayyyy across the Atlantic, my dear friend Lorena from Lorybeat blog, sent a note all the way from England!!! Now that, put a huge smile on my face this weekend. Sometimes folks don't know how much a friendly gesture can lift ones spirit. Thank you so much Lory!!!!

Well my friends that's it for today.
I hope everyone enjoys a great week!!!
Hugs for all. :)

:: Hiya!!! ::

Hello everyone,

Well, march is almost gone, and even though I've had to deal with a bad cold, and an even worse flu, I feel like the month has been productive.

My darling daughter Katherine always manages to make the strangest requests. This time in the form of a stone cozy, (sometimes I really do wonder about that girl.)

Of course, my latest granny is almost done, hopefully I'll share that with you before the weeks end.

And last but never least, it was all about Miss. Ireland last week.
I don't know why but I have the impression that she is always cold. So, of course she needed a warm, thick and chunky 3/4 sleeve cardi.
This sweater was very easy to make. I think I whipped it up in a couple of hours. The yarn was so soft, and fun to work with. :). She of course liked it, and her mommy loved it.

Well, ladies, I will keep this one short, it is now about 10:16 pm, and my NyQuil is kicking in, yaaaaawwwwn. :0.

Have a great and blessed rest of your week. Hugs for one and all!!!

:: My Latest ::

Good morning everyone!!!

It seems like its been forever since my last post, not that my hook hasn't been busy at work, it has just been other things keeping me from sharing.

But it's Monday morning, and a new week to look forward to.

Well as you can see from my pictures it has been all about Miss. Amelia lately.
She needed a nice, warm, girly poncho for school. Since the school uniform requires a navy blue hoodie or jacket, I thought it would be ok for her to wear a poncho in the required color. The flowers on the draw string ties make it fun and not-so-uniformy looking.
She of course loved it!!! And will be wearing for a school field trip today. ( I think).

And since leftover yarn is always available in these parts, I kinda made a matching pencil case which I will put in her Easter basket.

Other than this, my granny blanket is coming along nicely, I will share a bit of that later.
Today, I will look into staring a new spring project. Got any ideas????

Ciao for now my friends.
Have a great Rest of your week!!!!

Observing Spring growth.

Hello everyone. It has been almost two weeks since my last post. Aside from catching up on some reading, I have also been working on a few crochet projects. But most of all I've been enjoying watching my backyard bloom. We have had a few beautiful spring like days. This means, lunch or coffee on the patio, and just hanging out outside.
Also making a mental list of all that needs to be done, you know, weeding, removing unwanteds, replanting, etc.
But the one thing that I look forward to year after year is watching my Wisteria bloom, it grows over our trellis. Wisteria blooms on its bear wood, so the effect of these beautiful hanging flowers on the silvery wood is breathtaking. Not to mention the strong heady aroma.
As the blooms begin to die off and fall, it almost looks like snow falling, it just takes a soft breeze. :)
In my opinion, every stage of this vine is beautiful. When the leaves fully come in, we get the best summertime shade ever. At a later date I will let you all know what happens in the fall.

For now back to my crochet.
Enjoy the pics!!

Have a great rest of your week. ;)
