Summer Denim Skirt Alternative

Oh no!!!! I have broken my own rule  (one project at a time) and started yet another project!!!!
I just could not resist the temptation, now I have three WIP'S.  AS IF i didn't have enough to do already.

Summer is the season for skirts!!! And I just can't have enough of them. I have worn the life out of my favorite denim skirt, and since i couldn't figure out how to vamp it up, and I  really don't think I could find another like it, I decided to crochet one.   I found that Lily"s Sugar and Cream has a denim yarn that works perfectly for this skirt. It is soft, the color is perfect, and it looks like it will fade really well.
But now my dilemma is, which of  my WIP'S will make it to the finish line first!!!!   As if i didn't already know,
hehehe...     :)

I will post the finished product/s ........... Whenever!!!!!

Bye for now, and have a great rest of your day.     :0)

Twine coasters

A few years back I accompanied my husband on one of his Sunday afternoon trips to Home Depot. While he walked around with his mental list, getting exactly what he needed, (he doesn't forget a thing!) I wandered about looking for something to contribute to the shopping cart. I don't quite remember which aisle it was, but there they where, rows of neatly stacked balls of cotton twine. And then of course a huge light bulb lit up in my head!!!!!!
So, if I remember correctly I brought home like five balls of the stuff, my hubby had that, what-ever-makes-her-happy look on his face. (or she's gone totally nuts!!!!).
And I, had sturdy place mats on my mind. :-)
I quickly snapped out of it when I got home and realized that I would have to crochet at least six place mats, boring!!! So, I thought coasters would be short and sweet, and I could get the crocheting twine thing out of my system. So, I made just four coasters, and edged only two (the blue ones). Somehow I must have gotten distracted with another project and put the coasters aside.
Every now and then the they popped out of nowhere begging to be noticed, but I ignored them.
A few months ago, I opened my night stand drawer, and there they were, so I finally edged the other two with white cotton yarn ( the blue long ago got used up), and now they finally made it to the place mat drawer in my kitchen.
They still go unnoticed. I think the trick is to put them on the coffee table. :-).

Have a great rest of your day everyone!!!!!

Plarn....... :-/

Ok, so knitting up a small swatch of plarn is not the same as knitting an entire project, I just don't like the feel of it!!! But my dear friends I will see it through. (at some point)
For now I'm working on project "Melissa loves Café Con Léche". :)
Dear Melissa from Crocheting Over Coffee asked me to contribute to her blog ( how exciting!!!!), so I've put all others projects aside and am now working on something that I hope will wow!!! her. I'll be done before the end of next week. Stay tuned!!!!
P.S. Sorry for the bad pic, I really need to learn to use the good nikon instead of the iPhone camera.
Have a great and blessed weekend everyone!!!!!

Today I am making Plarn, (plastic yarn)

It takes more or less 15 to 20 plastic grocery bags to knit an Eco friendly, tote. (15 to 20 less plastic bags in our landfills !!!). These totes could be used for the beach, the farmers market, or even as grocery bags, ;). So let's start saving the plastic bags, and make lots and lots of Plarn, and let's do our part to save our planet!!!!! You can find a Plarn making tutorial by Linda Martin on Favecrafts.com.

Pink #6. Milla's tattered pink Teddy

So, I got up this morning, and as I walked over to the kitchen to make my morning cup of Joe, still half asleep, I stopped dead in my tracks. With my peripheral vision I could see something pink and furry peeking at me from behind my sofa. I cautiously went over to take a peek, and there she was, Milla's tattered, pink Teddy just laying there, wanting to be picked up off the floor, and put up high so that my kitty wouldn't pick on her anymore.
So I rescued her, and now she is just waiting for her owner to take her home.
Have a great rest of your day everyone!!!!!

Pink #5. A sweet little set for Alyssa

I made this sweet little set for sweet little Alyssa, a baby girl born to a lovely couple from the congregation I attend.
Problem is, that that Alyssa's mama and I keep missing each other, when I attend she doesn't and vice versa, I hope it still fits when I finally see them.
If not, I guess it'll be an excuse to crochet more pink things. Yay!!!!!
